About The Author
Matthew Stirts

I'm an author and artist from Boulder, Colorado. As a kid, my mom would read science fiction books to me like Ringworld, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, The Dragon Riders Of Pern, The Chronicles Of Amber, and many more. I loved sci-fi and fantasy and built my own worlds out of clay and Legos. All of these served as eventual inspiration for my novels.

I spent a good part of my adult life taking care of my family: first to my grandparents until they died, then to my mother until she died of metastatic breast cancer. As such I didn't get started progressing my own life along the path I wanted until my thirties. Now I'm doing what I love, writing and illustrating novels for the Signature series. I also work as a caregiver.

With the wonders of AI, I can bring my visions to life. My process involves drawing concept art on Clip Studio Paint then using ChatGPT and Kling AI to animate photorealistic, cinematic videos of my work. I begin each page with an AI clip but will always show the original art I made as a reference at the bottom. I also commissioned a company called Miblart to make the Rainbows Wane book cover. Check out the concept art section for in depth character and setting profiles and see Rainbows Wane Illustrated for a fully animated and illustrated journey through my book. I intend to make illustrated journeys through my other books in the future.
