Consumed Etropolis

When Magie opened her eyes again the night sky flooded them like limpid pools. But it was different somehow, blurry and dim. Light pollution pulsed everywhere and clouded out the stars to mere specks of white.
She sat up. A wave of warmth and humidity flushed her face. She looked around, emerald green ferns and vines caressed and covered a bright violet railing and floor. An elevator shaft and door sat in the middle of the hexagonal platform. A crackling bent her ears and thunder rumbled all around yet the sky shown clear and calm. Magie walked to the railing and peered out.
A city! A jungle? Sky scrapers of violet bricks stretched on to the horizon. Some looked like circuit boards. All were covered in shimmering emerald vines and leafy plants. Giant yellow and pink flowers dotted the walls as pulses of indigo lightning shot between them. The cityscape glowed bright as every surface shined brilliantly.
“I see you’re awake. Are you okay?” Mr. Shade asked.
“I’m fine,” Magie said.
“Are you sure?”
“Quite.”
“Alright. Welcome to the Consumed Etropolis. Once a thriving city, it has long been consumed by other dreams of thick jungle. Now its streets lay abandoned as electric flowers feed off the limitless energy. A soul shard’s here. That is all I know,” Mr. Shade said. She couldn’t see him as no unlit surface was present to catch shadows.
“Now this I’d agree is a jungle. It’s beautiful,” Magie breathed in the scenery.
“...And deadly. This whole dream is forbidden for some reason. At least there will be less guards around. Still, we should keep a low profile. It would be best to descend through the elevator shaft to avoid being seen,” Mr. Shade replied.

Like most settings in the Signature series, the Consumed Etropolis began as an abstract dreamscape made in Photoshop. It was originally called Polar Riff. It has since been adapted to a location in the dream dimension of Evnyance. Here dreams of a vast electrical city have been consumed by a thick and blooming jungle. Creatures called mimicflies pollinate the massive flowers and produce a honey-like substance that is coveted as the illegal drug "buzz". Magie, Mr. Shade and Iza must brave the jungle to recover a fragment of Magie's shattered soul but may encounter more resistance than the local wildlife along the way.
